To become the first student team in the world to achieve hovering, vertical take-off, and landing (VTOL) of a hybrid rocket.
Our Leadership Team

Baldwin Chen
Founder & Project Lead
Baldwin is a first-year aerospace engineering major from Tainan, Taiwan. As the Project Lead, he oversees the entire operation from managing subteams to sorting logistics. He is part of the Taiwanese Advanced Rocket Research Center (ARRC) and currently a grant holder for space systems research. Outside of the club, he enjoys playing volleyball and bowling.

Mihir Dasgupta
Avionics & Guidance, Navigation, and Controls (A&GNC) Lead
Mihir is a second-year electrical engineering major at Georgia Tech from Bangalore, India. As the Avionics lead, he oversees both the software and hardware development in all of our projects. He is also involved with silicon photonics research at the Georgia Electronic Design Center. Outside of the club, enjoys hiking and is an unreasonably competitive table tennis player.

Anyi Lin
Avionics & Guidance, Navigation, and Controls (A&GNC) Lead
Anyi is a first-year computer science major from Athens, Georgia. He serves as the GNC lead, managing the design and implementation of algorithms involving sensor fusion and navigation of the UAV. He has experience working with sensor fusion and path following. Beyond the club, Anyi enjoys spending time with friends and working out.

Jack Rumpf
Structures Lead
Jack is a first-year mechanical engineering major with a minor in FinTech at Georgia Tech. He is from Athens, GA, and serves as the Structures Co-Lead. He manages the structural aspects of all projects. He has interned with ABB as a Mechanical/Design Engineer, spends time working on startups, and currently is with Spark Starter Studio as a Web Developer. Outside of GTPL he likes to spend time hanging out with his friends.

Alexis Alfonseca
Structures Lead
Alexis is a first-year mechanical engineering major from Duluth, Georgia. As the Structures Co-Lead, he oversees the development of essential structural elements on all of the projects. He previously interned at Siemens and has experience in 3D printing and injection molding. Outside of GTPL, he spends his time playing ultimate frisbee and raising livestock.

Aaron Wong
Propulsion Lead
Aaron is a first-year aerospace engineering major from the New York Metro Area. He oversees the development of the combustion systems on the test stand and rockets. Outside of the club, he likes to play the clarinet and play basketball.

Hanming Sun
Administration Lead
Hanming is a first-year industrial engineering major from the Atlanta Metro Area. As the Administrative Lead, he oversees the day-to-day operations, finances, and logistics for Propulsive Landers. In his free time, he likes watching football, playing volleyball, and stargazing.

Matthew Lai
Marketing Lead
Matthew is a second-year industrial engineering major from San Francisco Bay Area. As the marketing lead, he manages outreach efforts, social media platforms, sponsorships, and the club website. Outside of the club, he enjoys hiking, backpacking, and rock climbing.
Vice Leads

Cosette Kim
Treasurer
Cosette is a first-year biomedical engineering major at Georgia Tech from Tampa, Florida. As the Treasurer, she manages the finances of the club; Cosette's also part of the Propulsion subteam. Previously, her team won second internationally at the MATE underwater robotics contest and she shadowed the Supportive Care Medicine branch at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center. Outside of GTPL, she enjoys playing the flute, going on walks, and trying new food.

Raj Kothari
Secretary
Raj is a first-year computer engineering major from Mississippi, USA. As the secretary, he represents the organization and maintains strong relations with Georgia Tech. He is also a member of the sensing and control team in A&GNC, working on an algorithm for the sensor fusion module for altitude control. Outside of his duties, Raj loves playing guitar, watching F1 and soccer, and spending time with friends and family.

Nathan Kim
Guidance, Navigation, and Controls (GNC) Lead
Nathan is a second-year computer science major from Suwanee, Georgia. He is the GNC vice-lead in charge of control algorithms, where he has worked on path-planning, path-following, and rocket control systems. Outside of GTPL, he enjoys going on hikes, building custom mechanical keyboards, stargazing, and traveling for astrophotography.

Ryan Vargas
Ground Support Equipment Lead
Ryan is an aerospace engineering major from Chicago, Illinois and is the Propellant Feed Systems (PFS) Lead. Ryan manages the feed system that delivers the oxidizer to the combustion chamber chamber as well as all components related to it. Beyond GTPL, Ryan enjoys being active, playing tennis, and being a "demon" on the 3-point line.

Udita Mahajan
Electronics Lead
Udita is a first-year electrical engineering major from Santa Clara, California. As one of the Electronics leads, she helps oversee the design and operation of hardware components. She has previously been a Lab Teaching Assistant at 49ers STEM Leadership Institute and has experience designing robots. Outside of GTPL, she enjoys hiking and playing tennis and basketball.

Matthew Xu
Engine Development Lead
Matthew is a first-year aerospace engineering major from Upton, Massachusetts at Georgia Tech. He is a co-lead for the engine development team and helps lead the progression of testbed engines and main engine design. Outside of GTPL, he is a part of the sailing race team at Georgia Tech, loves to workout, and loves to run.

Sukhmani Sethi
Engine Development Lead
Sukhmani is a first-year aerospace engineering major from Aldie, Virginia. She serves as the engine development vice lead, overseeing the development of the injector and the engine. Outside of the club, she enjoys sleeping, playing basketball, and netflix.

Mia Carlton
Social Media Lead
Mia is a first-year chemical & biomolecular engineering major from Atlanta, Georgia. She manages GTPL's social medias: designing, editing, and captioning posts across multiple platforms. When not behind the camera, she loves playing piano, violin, and guitar.

Yoyi Xie
Simulations Lead
Yoyi is a first-year mechanical engineering major from Athens, Georgia. He serves as a structures Vice-Lead, managing the simulations projects. He has experience in robotics, mechanical design, programming, and developing startups. Outside of GTPL, he enjoys spending time with friends and working on personal projects.
